About This Event
RCWA is partnering with Caltrans as we continue our progress with cleaning greenbelts along the Sacramento River. If you have not participated with RCWA prior, please be sure to fill out a waiver online, available on our website, and arrive 15 minutes early to check in. This location is behind the Robert T. Matsui Waterfront Park. It is next to the SMUD Curiosity museum and just south of Tiscornia Beach. It is a well used walking and biking trail, so there is plenty of trash to be found along the top bank and down below the waterline. Parking has been generously donated to us from SMUD Museum of Science and Curious Center from 8-12pm for this event. We will park there and work along the riverbank behind the building. This event is suitable for ages 12 and older. Any minors must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult throughout the event. We will provide bags, but please bring grabbers, buckets, and gloves, if you have them - a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available. We will not be entering the water during this event. As with all events shared on RCWA, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously. Overall, be safe, have fun and get some โExercise with a Purposeโ as Bill Templin says.
