About This Event
Please join RCWA as we return to the Sacramento River to clean another large riparian habitat completely full of trash. This spot has amazing views of the river, but there are heaps of trash that must be removed. We will gather at Garcia Bend Park (pronounced GAR-SHA) located in the Pocket neighborhood. Look for RCWA signs. This event is being sponsored the City of Sacramento's Neighborhood Cleanup Grant Program, and in cooperation with the City's Youth, Parks and Community Enrichment Department (YPCE). This event is suitable for ages 12 and older. Any minors must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult throughout the event. We will provide bags, but please bring along your sturdy, mud/sand/vegetation resistant footwear, grabbers, buckets, gloves - a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available. Cultivators, shovels and loppers would also be helpful if you have them. We will not be entering the water during this event. As with all events shared on RCWA, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously.
